{"id":391,"date":"2025-07-22T12:07:43","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T12:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kirsavoltren.com\/?p=391"},"modified":"2025-07-23T14:09:57","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T14:09:57","slug":"kremlin-reveals-expectations-for-upcoming-ukraine-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kirsavoltren.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/22\/kremlin-reveals-expectations-for-upcoming-ukraine-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Kremlin reveals expectations for upcoming Ukraine talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A miracle breakthrough should not be expected in the third round of negotiations in Istanbul, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia does not expect a breakthrough <em>&ldquo;of the miraculous kind&rdquo;<\/em> in the upcoming peace negotiations with Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.<\/p>\n<p>The third round of talks is expected to take place this week in Istanbul, where the two sides met in May and June.<\/p>\n<p>During the previous round last month, the two delegations exchanged draft memorandums on peace terms and agreed to humanitarian measures, including the return of prisoners of war and transferring the remains of soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Peskov said Russia hopes the next meeting will be held this week, adding that the date will be announced once both sides are ready.<\/p>\n<p>According to the spokesman, the upcoming session will include discussions of the memorandums shared earlier, among other topics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n        <span><strong>Read more<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure>\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"FILE PHOTO\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/kirsavoltren.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/687c3e54203027079653f6e6.jpg\"><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/russia\/621707-zelensky-wants-putin-meeting\/\">Zelensky wants personal meeting with Putin<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Asked about Moscow&rsquo;s expectations for the upcoming talks, Peskov said, <em>&ldquo;there is no reason to count on any miraculous breakthroughs,&rdquo;<\/em> as the situation is too complex.<\/p>\n<p>Peskov pushed back, however, against suggestions that the talks will be fruitless.
